About Bea
Thanks for reading more about me and the work I do.
In 2001, I received my Professional Counseling M.S. from Georgia State University. For the first five years, I honed my craft working with combat veterans in the PTSD clinic at a VA Medical Center... with law enforcement at FLETC in the aftermath of 9/11... and with abused children and families at a Children's Advocacy Center (CAC). In 2006, I opened a private practice in Washington DC, and another in Bucks County, PA in 2015.

I love what I do. I see it as a calling and a privilege, and I care deeply about the people who entrust me with their stories and their hope.

Vulnerability can be hard for all of us. It takes courage to own and share who we are underneath. A stable, reliable partner and a nurturing, non-judgmental environment are significant keys to change. I offer both. This allows clients to feel safe and supported as they undertake the journey of self-discovery, healing and growth.

My go-to treatments are evidence based ones like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also draw heavily on Existential Psychology and Jungian theory, especially when focusing on big life questions, transitions, dreams, and stories we live by.

Through our work together, clients become more self-aware and self-accepting. They understand their thoughts, feelings, & behaviors better. They also learn new tools and techniques that facilitate healthy emotional processing, problem solving and life planning.
